Brenda Joyce Hobbs passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on January 16, 1953, Brenda’s life was characterized by her unwavering dedication to her family and the countless children she nurtured throughout her lifetime. Her role as a mother and grandmother was the one she cherished most. She poured love and wisdom into her children and grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength that will continue to flourish in their lives. Her passion for caring for others extended beyond her family. Brenda was the founder of Sandi Land Childcare Center, where she became a second mother to many. Through her work, she touched the lives of numerous families, sharing her love and compassion with every child that walked through her doors. Brenda’s ability to make each child feel special and loved was one of her most remarkable qualities. In addition to her devotion to family and community, Brenda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid shopper, always eager to buy new things!
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Jr. and Fannie Cox; brother, Gary Cox; and sister, Sandi Cox.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Gerald Hobbs; son, Roger Hobbs (Melinda); daughter, Shellie Hobbs (Joseph Mullen); brothers, Michael Cox (Joanne) and Brad Cox; sister, Anita Busby; grandchildren, Tyler Hobbs (Mallory), Cara Azhar (Amir), Levi Condray (Abby), Emma Hobbs, and Maddie Ferguson (Evan); and great-grandchildren, Brailey, Parker, Olivia, Gracie, Avery, Norah, Waylon, Willow, and Waylon Koe.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 8, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.
