Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – June 20, 2024 – A 37-year-old Jonesboro woman jumped out of a moving vehicle on Harrisburg Road yesterday after an argument with the vehicle’s driver.
When police arrived, they located the victim laying in the middle of the road with a male subject holding her head. The female had injuries to her head and neck, had blood coming from her head, a laceration on her chin, and road rash cuts on her arms.
While JFD and EMS were treating the victim, JPD asked her what happened. She advised that she and the driver had been arguing, and she didn’t like what the driver, a 38-year-old Marked Tree man, had been saying, so she opened the door and jumped out.
She then told police “I didn’t think it was going to hurt this bad.”
After she jumped out, the driver continued driving down the road.
The detective who investigated the case wrote in his narrative that you can see the female open her own door and stand on the side of the van before stepping onto the road and collapsing when she hits the pavement. He also states that there was no force to push her out and it appears as though she did this on her own.
The case is closed, and no charges were filed.
