Steve Wilkinson, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Born on March 11, 1964, in Paragould, Arkansas, Steve’s life was a testament to his unwavering faith, his passion for the outdoors, and his remarkable skill as a contractor.

Steve was preceded in death by his loving parents, William (John Ed) Wilkinson and Phyllis Elenora Wilkinson, and his niece, Claire Vivian Wyatt. His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family members. His sisters, Mary Christina and James Edward Lewis of Pocahontas, Arkansas, and Lacey Shayann and John Robert Wyatt Jr. Steve’s life was further enriched by his very special nieces and nephews, Stacy and Kyle Wesselhoft of Decatur, Texas, Autumn Taylor of Southaven, Mississippi, Casey Lewis of Pocahontas, Arkansas, William Chase Wyatt of Paragould, Arkansas, Rylee Kate Wesselhoft of Decatur, Texas, and Grayson Lane Taylor of Southaven, Mississippi and many special friends and companions too numerous to mention but loved.

For over three decades, Steve dedicated himself to his craft as a contractor. His handiwork and attention to detail were not just a profession but a calling, as he helped build and restore homes with the same care and commitment he showed in every aspect of his life. Colleagues and clients alike will remember Steve as a man who could always be counted on to deliver work of the highest quality.

A faithful member of the Lutheran Church, Steve’s devotion to his faith was evident to all who knew him. He lived his beliefs through acts of kindness, a spirit of generosity, and a willingness to serve others. His faith was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding him in his daily life and providing comfort to those around him.

Steve’s love for the great outdoors was unmistakable. He found solace and joy in fishing and hunting, activities that not only brought him closer to nature but also provided cherished moments with family and friends. These pastimes reflected Steve’s appreciation for life’s simple pleasures and his passion for adventure.

Steve’s legacy is one of a life well-lived and well-loved. His faith-filled nature shone through in his commitment to his church and his community, and his passion was evident in every endeavor he undertook, whether it was in his professional work or in the quiet moments spent by a lakeside.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Greg Gerdes, Bob Wells, Calvin Exum, Steve McLeskey, Mark Miller, and Todd Gazaway. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Prince, Tommy Bowers, Richard Bowers, James Campton, Jerry Cross, and Yeanne Mangrum.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church Youth fund, the Benjamin Project Inc. of Paragould, AR and Children’s Home of Paragould, AR.
