Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – June 18, 2024 – Vehicle crime was the name of the game on Monday night with a reported 10 vehicle-related reports listed by JPD on Monday alone. An additional vehicle theft was listed by CCSO.
Three vehicles were stolen, one on Melrose St, one on Kathleen St, and one on CR 664.
One vehicle showed signs of being hotwired with intent to steal at a business on Highland Drive.
Two vehicles had busted windows and showed signs of “intent to steal.” Both were at an apartment complex on Leggett St.
Four others were reported to have been broken into or damaged and had items stolen, but didn’t show intent to steal the vehicle itself. These were on Leggett St, Huntington, W Matthews, and Chestnut.
One trailer was also stolen on Evan St.
Most of these vehicles were listed as being locked when these crimes occurred. As always, do not leave anything valuable in your vehicle, always lock your doors, and do not leave your keys anywhere near the vehicle itself.
One of the listed reports states that the vehicle was locked, but the owner had her keys with her inside a business approximately 5 feet away from her parked car and the suspect was able to gain access by pressing the “unlock” button on the door handle.
