Mr. Donald Huffman, 77, of Walcott went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born at home in Punkin Center on September 28, 1946 to the late Melvin and Alma Huffman. After graduating from Stanford School in 1965, he proudly served his country in the Army while stationed in Germany.

He worked as an Industrial Engineer for Darling Store Fixtures where he retired after 37 1/2 years. Don was a member of Light Baptist Church and was loved by his church family. He was a passionate and dedicated hunter who found joy in the outdoors. He cherished the time spent hunting with his grandson, Jacob and teaching him the sport.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by sisters, Dessie and Geraldine; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Howard and Lucille; sister-in-law, Ethel; and brothers in law, Donald L, Homer, Carl, Bob and Jim; nephew, Brian and great-nieces Jessica and Rebecca.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue and daughter Donna (King); his grandson who was his pride and joy, Jacob (Jessica); sisters: Bonnie and Wanda Sue; sister in law, Becky; brother in law, Bo (Bonnie); nephews: Michael (Diana), Brett, Kevin (Brandi) and Anthony (Susan); nieces: Rhonda, Sherrie, Carla (Kevin), Melanie (Chris), Michele (Chris), Norma (Dennis), Amanda (Sam), and Andrea (Al) and many precious great and great-great nephews and nieces as well as a host of many friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Mitchell Funeral Home. Bro. Tommy Stacy will officiate the service with music being provided by Mary Ann Ballard.

Joe Pratt, Tommy Justus, Ricky Ellis, Roger Beck, Patrick Ballard, and Michael Exum will serve as active pallbearers. The men of Light Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
