Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 30, 2024 – Grab your clubs and get ready to tee off for a day of golf, camaraderie, and making a real difference.

On June 7th, 2024, Sage Meadows will host a Golf Tournament Fundraiser like no other with a chance to support a cause close to many hearts: the fight against Mucolipidosis Type 4 (ML4).

Jonesboro local Aaron Farley is a man on a mission spurred by personal experience. His daughter, Saylor Kate, born in 2021, has been diagnosed with ML4, an exceptionally rare genetic disorder. Only about a hundred individuals worldwide share Saylor’s diagnosis. ML4 wreaks havoc on the body, affecting the brain, central nervous system, retina, and kidneys. It robs children like Saylor of their ability to walk, talk, and see.

But Aaron Farley isn’t one to back down from a challenge. Fueled by love for his daughter and a steadfast determination to make a difference, Aaron is rallying the community for support. The Golf Tournament Fundraiser isn’t just about hitting the greens; it’s about rallying together to fund vital research efforts aimed at finding a treatment for ML4.

The tournament format is a four-person scramble, and two tee times are available, catering to early risers and afternoon enthusiasts. Cash prizes are promised, and lunch will be provided.

But why ML4? For Aaron and countless families like his, ML4 isn’t just a diagnosis; it’s a call to action. The funds raised will be directed to the ML4 Foundation. Partnering with Massachusetts General Hospital, the ML4 Foundation is at the forefront of groundbreaking research. Their efforts are focused on developing a gene therapy to combat ML4 and conducting crucial natural history studies to deepen our understanding of the disease.

If you’re unable to hit greens but still want to show your support, donations are gratefully accepted. Click here to donate directly to the cause. Every dollar makes a difference.

Farley told JRN, “We are also looking for sponsorships – any business owners who are looking to be a part of this. ML4 is a 501(c)(3), so donations will be tax deductible.

“We are trying to raise money for the Massachusetts General Hospital, the doctors and scientists there are passionate and motivated for not just Saylor, but all who are suffering from this disease.”

Mark your calendars, gather your team, and join us on June 7th for a day of golfing with purpose. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by ML4.
