Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – Court documents show that rape charges against a Jonesboro man have been dropped by prosecutors due to “credibility concerns” in regard to the victim’s family.
Second Judicial Circuit Court Judge Chris Thyer signed an order of nolle prosequi on Wednesday, formally dismissing the criminal case against Cetrick Deshawn Crockett.

According to the order, the state requested the dismissal because “based on the facts and evidence currently available, credibility concerns prevent the state from reasonably proceeding to trial”.
The filing explicitly notes that these concerns “arise from actions of the victim’s mother, grandmother, and grandfather”.
Crockett was initially arrested on Dec. 8, 2025, on five counts of rape. The affidavit said that during a post-polygraph interview, Crockett became highly emotional, repeatedly changed his account of the events, and eventually admitted to the sexual assault, reportedly telling investigators he would never do it again.
During his initial appearance last December, District Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge Crockett with the five counts of rape. Due to the nature of the charges and a reported previous violation of a no-contact order, Boling set a $500,000 cash/surety bond and ordered Crockett to wear a GPS ankle monitor upon release.
State law says that a nolle prosequi designation dismisses the current charges, though prosecutors retain the legal right to refile the case in the future if new evidence emerges or circumstances change.
