Across Arkansas, drivers are seeing a similar downward shift. The statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded has settled right at $4.00. That’s down slightly from $4.06 a week ago, though still higher compared to the $2.75 statewide average recorded a year ago.
The current average prices statewide are:
- Regular: $4.00

The local cooldown comes as the national average dropped nearly seven cents over the past week to $4.41.
The dip brings a welcome end to a record-setting September. AAA reported the national monthly average hit $4.33, crushing the previous September record of $3.83 set in 2023 by 50 cents.
Experts attribute the recent decline to falling crude oil prices, which have dipped back in to the $90 per barrel range. Additionally, the Energy Information Administration noted a decrease in domestic gasoline demand last week–dropping from 8.84 million barrels per day to 8.68 million–which helped ease pump prices even as overall domestic supplies slightly decreased.
