Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – A Jonesboro woman will spend the next decade in prison after pleading guilty to felony charges stemming from her three-month-old baby testing positive for meth and cocaine.
Michelle Moore, 38, pled guilty Monday to two felonies: introducing a controlled substance into the body of another (Class Y) and endangering the welfare of a minor (Class D).

Circuit Judge Chris Thyer sentenced Moore to 120 months in the Arkansas Division of Correction for the class Y felony, with an additional 180 months suspended. The sentencing order also shows that she also received a concurrent 36-month sentence for the class D felony, with 36 months suspended. Moore was credited for 283 days of jail time already served.
The conviction follows an investigation that began with a home visit by social workers on Oct. 31, 2025.
According to the probable cause affidavit, workers reported seeing white, crystal-like substances believed to be meth on a table, a car seat, and a baby tub. Moore, who told the workers the baby had no bed and no primary care doctor, subsequently tested positive for meth and amphetamine.
A hair follicle test later revealed the baby had high levels of amphetamine, meth, benzoylecgonine, and cocaine in its system. Moore was arrested on Dec. 19, 2025.
The sentencing order shows that Moore must enroll in and complete a course to obtain a GED. She is also subject to a no-contact order and must submit to random testing for illegal substances and intoxicants.
