Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – A man who Jonesboro police said raped a child on multiple occasions has been sentenced to life in prison.

Brandon Moore, of Virginia Beach, VA, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Sept. 24 by Circuit Judge Scott Ellington.

The sentencing order shows that Moore originally faced a total of 42 counts. He pleaded guilty to and was convicted of one count of rape and five counts of possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The remaining 36 charges–which included one count of first-degree computer exploitation of a child and 35 additional counts of possession of CSAM–were nolle prossed.

For the rape charge, Moore was sentenced to life in prison, which stands as his total time to be served. Court records show that he also received 10-year prison sentences for each of the five CSAM charges, with an additional 10 years suspended on each count. Those five sentences will run concurrently.

The investigation into Moore began in August 2025 after Jonesboro police received a report that a child had been sexually assaulted by a family member.

During a forensic interview in September 2025, the victim disclosed that Moore sexually assaulted them on several occasions. Moore reportedly recorded videos of the assault and showed them to the victim, along with videos of himself engaging in similar acts with other children.

Moore was tracked down in Norfolk, VA, by a U.S. Marshals task force and the U.S. Navy before being extradited back to Jonesboro to face charges. During his probable cause hearing, Judge Ralph Wilson set Moore’s bond at $750,000 cash or surety.

In addition to his life sentence, the court ordered that Moore must register as a sex offender and have no contact with the victim.
