Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – A man was arrested early Friday morning after police said he pointed a firearm at a victim during a fight at Jonesboro fraternity house.

Jonesboro police officers responded to the Kappa Alpha Fraternity House at approximately 12:10 a.m. Sept. 18 for a fight in progress involving weapons. According to a probable cause affidavit, 23-year-old Kemauree Keentae Henry, of McRae, AR, and his acquaintances arrived for a party but were denied entry, leading to the fight.

A victim was on the phone with dispatch and said Henry pointed a firearm at him–using the slang term “upped pole”–and asked the victim if he was ready to die. The affidavit said Henry acknowledged having a firearm, telling officers it was for “self-defense” and that he held a concealed carry license.

Police took Henry into custody after determining he matched the description of the armed subject provided to dispatch.

While a firearm was not found on Henry during the arrest, officers noted his vehicle was parked in a lot adjacent to the fraternity house with the trunk open. Police impounded the vehicle and obtained a search warrant.

Upon executing the warrant, they found a loaded handgun beneath the driver’s seat in a “cocked and locked” position, the affidavit said.

Henry was arrested at 12:55 a.m., the inmate roster for the Craighead County Detention Center shows.

Hours later, Henry appeared before District Judge David Boling. He found probable cause to charge Henry with aggravated assault, a class D felony and gave him a $25,000 cash/surety bond. As a condition of the bond, Henry is not allowed to possess any weapons or firearms.

Henry’s next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 26.
