Sandra Gayzell (Hammon) Boozer, age 78, of Paragould, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Greene Acres Nursing Home in Paragould surrounded by family. Sandy was born on November 12, 1945, to the late Lester and Tennie Hammon in Paragould.
Sandy, affectionately known as Cookie, was a loving wife and mother, sister, aunt, Maw maw and friend. She had a heart of gold and the best laugh. If you heard her giggling, you knew something was about to happen. If you came to her house, you were going to be fed, listened to, and be on the receiving end of the biggest neck-hug knowing she loved you. Sandy loved singing with her brothers and family gatherings. Although we miss her precious voice, we are confident she is singing with a heavenly choir alongside many family members and friends. You have not lost someone if you know where they are. It’s not goodbye, it’s see ya later. Mama was most precious to us, and she will be greatly missed.
The best part of her lives on in each and every one of us. Sandy Boozer was a faithful member of Brown’s Chapel Baptist Church in Paragould where she sang in the choir but most importantly, she knew Jesus and He knew her. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louie Boozer; her brother, Manuel Hammon; and her twin sisters, Marsa Lou Hammon and Marla Sue Hammon.
She leaves behind her children, Tammy (Mike) Edwards, of Paragould and Amy (Richard) Jackson, of Paragould; her brothers, Jim (Pat) Hammon, of Paragould, AR, Frankie Hammon, of Paragould, AR, and Gerald (Donna) Hammon of Flippin, AR; grandchildren, Wes (Sara) Edwards, of Paragould, AR, Justin (Anna) Edwards, of Maumelle, AR, Ryan Jackson, of Paragould, AR, Brandon Jackson, of Jonesboro, AR, and Cole Edwards, of Paragould,
AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Browns Chapel Baptist Church, beginning at 1:00 pm with Dale Noe officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Brown’s Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
