Jonesboro, AR – Contributed – Braver Angels Arkansas will host a community conversation titled “Can We Disagree Better? – Respectfully Navigating Differences” on Sept. 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church, 801 S. Main St.
The public event will feature Glen White, co-coordinator of Braver Angels Arkansas, and will focus on practical ways citizens can engage across differences while strengthening relationships within their communities.

Braver Angels works to create opportunities for respectful dialogue and constructive engagement. The September program will provide participants with tools for listening more effectively, communicating across divides, and finding common ground without requiring agreement on every issue.
Organizers say the event is designed for people of all backgrounds and viewpoints who want to improve the quality of civic discussion and community relationships.
“Healthy communities depend on the ability of neighbors to talk with one another respectfully, even when they disagree, ” local organizer Charles Hartwig said. “Our goal is to help participants gain practical skills for productive conversations and strengthen connections across differences.”
Braver Angels is a national nonpartisan citizens organization dedicated to reducing polarization and helping Americans build trust across political and ideological lines. Through workshops, debates, community conversations, and educational programs, the organization encourages mutual understanding and civic engagement.
The Jonesboro event is open to the public, and all interested community members are invited to attend.
