Cynthia Jo Evers, affectionately known as Cindy, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024, in Memphis, Tennessee. Born on September 8, 1970, in Paragould, Arkansas, Cindy was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her.

Cindy’s early years were spent in the nurturing care of her mother, Joetta Evers, in Rector, where she also shared loved with her brother, Larry Jo Evers Jr., and her sister, Lisa, alongside her brother-in-law, Darryld Beck. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment with her special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews, as well as her many friends. Cindy’s father, Larry Jo Evers Sr., and her nephew, Garrett Evers, preceded her in death, and she now joins them in eternal rest.

A proud graduate of the Rector High School Class of 1988, Cindy dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a compassionate Home Health Aide. Her spirited nature was evident in her love for rock and arrowhead hunting, arts and crafts, and sewing. Cindy’s loving heart found joy in spending quality time with her family and friends, and her friendly demeanor was a comfort to all. A devout reader of her Bible, Cindy’s faith was a testament to her character.

A Memorial Service to honor and remember Cindy’s life will be held at a later date. Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector is entrusted with her arrangements.
