Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – A Jonesboro woman is behind bars on a $150,000 cash/surety bond after police said she shot another person during a fight.
On June 5, Jonesboro police officers were dispatched to an apartment on Creath Avenue for a shooting. There, they came in contact with the victim who had been shot and was standing by the street.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim and someone named “Ke-Ke” got into a fight, during which “Ke-Ke” got a firearm out and pointed it at the victim. The victim pushed the firearm away, but “Ke-Ke” pointed it again at the victim and fired, with the victim sustaining injuries to her chest and arm.

A witness from a nearby apartment told officers that she heard a gunshot but did not see the shooting. Another witness advised that he was standing outside the home when the victim arrived, acting belligerent. The witness and victim got into an argument, at which time the victim used pepper spray on him. The witness then ran from the area and heard four gunshots.
The victim and witnesses identified “Ke-Ke” as 37-year-old Yarkesha Latrice Riley-Armstrong. Two shell casings were found in a nearby parking lot, and Riley was seen on cameras fleeing the scene in a silver Chevrolet Avalanche. She was arrested at 7:15 a.m. on July 8, according to the Craighead County Detention Center inmate roster.
Hours later, Riley appeared before District Judge David Boling, who found probable cause to charge her with one class B felony: First-degree battery/purposefully causing physical injury to another person by means of a firearm.
In addition to the $150,000 bond, Riley must have no contact with the victim and wear a GPS ankle monitor upon release.
Riley’s next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 21. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison and fines up to $15,000.
