Kueter replaces the commission’s outgoing chairwoman, Anne Marie Doramus, with Rob Finley to serve as the next commission chairman.
The AGFC oversees protection, conservation, and preservation of Arkansas’ wildlife and fish, as well as provides programming educating the public on environmental protection and management.

“I’ve been blessed to share my love of the Arkansas outdoors with my wife and three children. I’ve had the opportunity to witness each of them harvest their first deer and to take them on their first duck hunts. I look forward to doing the same with my grandchildren,” Kueter said. “With the leadership of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, we can ensure that Arkansans can continue to share these resources and traditions.”
Kueter has hunted and fished since childhood and holds a degree in wildlife management from Arkansas State University. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Craighead Electric Cooperative Corporation and is president of the Eight Mile Drainage District.
He serves on the Arkansas Catfish Promotion Board, Greene County Farm Bureau Board, and Arkansas Bait and Ornamental Fish Growers Association. He is a two-time Catfish Farmer of the Year.
“I know Steve’s background will make him an excellent new member of one of our state’s most important bodies,” Sanders said. “I know he has the knowledge and the dedication to preserve and to protect the beautiful state that each of us call home.”
