According to the probable cause affidavit, on June 27, Jonesboro police officers responded to the 1000 block of French Street. There, they met with the victim, who said McCline had been drinking and began arguing with her.

She explained that McCline became upset, placed his hands around her throat, and strangled her to the point that she could not breathe. He also threatened to kill her while strangling her.

Once McCline released the victim, he hit her in the face with a closed fist, again threatening to kill her if she called the police.

The affidavit noted several injuries on the victim, including bruising around her neck and eye where McCline strangled and punched her.

McCline was arrested around 12:35 a.m., according to the jail roster. He is being held on a $50,000 cash/surety bond with the condition to have no contact with the victim.

McCline’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 30. If convicted on all charges, he faces up to 13 years in prison and fines up to $22,500.
