According to the probable cause affidavit, on June 12, Craighead County Deputy Lloyd Norman learned that Moody was staying at the Deluxe Inn on Gee Street and was possibly selling meth. She was also known to be on probation with a search waiver on file.

After checking at the front desk and learning which room Moody was staying in, the deputy went to the room and met a man standing beside the bed, with Moody inside. The deputy told Moody he was there to conduct a probation search on her. When asked if there was anything illegal in the room, Moody said, “There might be a pipe.”

Inside the room, the deputy found several items:

  • A set of digital scales
  • Several clear sandwich baggies
  • Multiple baggies containing a total 54.3 grams of meth
  • A glass pipe

After being asked if the items were hers, Moody said they were. She was arrested and booked into the Craighead County Detention Center as a result.

Moody’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 30. If convicted on all three charges, she faces over seven years in prison and up to $27,500 in fines.
