Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – The Jonesboro University Heights Lions Club is displaying flags across community businesses and buildings in recognition on Friday in recognition of Juneteenth.
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day enslaved African Americans in Galveston, TX, were informed of their freedom by Union soldiers, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation’s signing.
