Jonesboro, AR – Contributed – The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library is inviting young readers and their families to join the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge.
This year’s theme, “Unearth a Story™,” is provided by the Collaborative Summer Library Program and encourages children to discover new adventures, explore their imaginations, and develop a lifelong love of reading.

Participants can sign up at the Youth Services Desk and pick up a Summer Reading Challenge brochure filled with reading activities, games, and information about earning prizes.
The library offers three age-based challenges to ensure readers of all levels can participate:
- Read-Together Challenge for ages 5 and under
- Reader Challenge for students in 1st through 3rd grade
- Tween Challenge for students in 4th through 6th grade
The Summer Reading Challenge is designed to help children maintain and strengthen reading skills while school is out and to encourage families to make reading a fun part of their summer routines.
Registration is free, and participants may join at any time during the program.
