Paragould, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – A Paragould man is behind bars after police said he tried to attack a teenager with a hammer and fought another man during a domestic disturbance.
Robert Calhoun, 37, was arrested and booked into the Greene County Detention Center on May 13, according to the online jail roster.

The probable cause affidavit states that on the day prior, Paragould police officers were dispatched to a home in the 1600 block of South 2nd Avenue for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were told that Calhoun had attacked multiple people inside.
Officers met with multiple victims and witnesses at the scene. They were told that Calhoun attempted to hit a female victim with a hammer and was immediately confronted by another adult male. Calhoun and the male got into a physical fight, resulting in the male receiving a minor injury to the face and lip. Calhoun was soon found and placed into custody.
On May 13, a judge gave Calhoun a $35,000 cash/surety bond and ordered him to have no contact with the victims. Calhoun was also ordered to have no weapons and wear an ankle monitor upon release.
Calhoun faces charges of aggravated assault on a family or household member (Class D felony) and third-degree domestic battery (Class A misdemeanor).
