Janet D. Morris Claude, passed away Sunday March 24th, 2024 at the age of 66. She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Jurl “Jerry” Claude Jr. Loving mother of Jurl “Jay” Claude III, and Jami R. (Jesse) Hines. Cherished grandmother of Kaden M. Claude-Osak, Jesse C. Hines Jr., Darleen Hines and Eugene Hines. Dear sister of Wesley G. (Cynthia) Morris, and Brenda (Lawrence) Fuqua. Janet was a beloved cousin, aunt and friend to many.
Janet was born in Dunklin County, Missouri and passed peacefully in her sleep at her home in Hazelwood, MO.
The first child of Charles H. and Nellie Jo Morris, she saw several locales in Missouri and Illinois before the family settled in Florissant. Starting grade school at Walker Elementary, she graduated from Hazelwood Central High School in 1976. Married for 45 years, she was a loving mother to her two children and a doting grandmother to four. She was an avid softball player for many years, a willing baby sitter and daycare provider, and a devoted collector of many things in her later years. She loved fiercely, always spoke her truth, and would give freely to all she loved. Janet leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will forever be cherished.
Visitation and services were held at Hutchens Mortuary in Florissant, Missouri, on April 2 and April 3, respectively.
Janet will also have services in Paragould alongside her father, Charles H. Morris, on Saturday, April 13 at Mitchell Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. with graveside services immediatley following at Greene County Memorial Gardens.
