Michael James Blackwood of Harrisburg, departed this life on Monday, February 19, 2024, at his home, at the age of 51.
He was born July 28, 1972 in Wynne, the son of the late Gary Blackwood and Carolyn Clements Blackwood Riethbaum.
Michael was a 1990 graduate of Harrisburg High School and worked at Farmers Supply in Harrisburg and Wynne since he was 18 years old. He was a Commercial Applicator. He married Marjorie Vernor on November 25, 2006 and they enjoyed 18 years together. He loved fishing and woodworking. Michael was a member of the Nettleton Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jerry Riethbaum and one son, Adam James “A.J.” Blackwood.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Marjorie Blackwood of the home; one daughter, Vanessa Criner and her husband Cody of Jonesboro; two sons, Tanner Blackwood and his girlfriend Harlee Flanigan of Jonesboro and Trey Blackwood of the home; one brother, Jeremy Blackwood of Durant, OK; two granddaughters, Mia and Everly Criner of Jonesboro; one niece, Alicia McClain and her husband Hayden of Brookland and a great nephew, Parker McClain.
Graveside funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Friday, at the Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Brady Canright officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the HHS Class of 1990.
Friends may visit at the Gregg- Weston Funeral Home Thursday evening, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
