Memphis, TN – JonesboroRightNow.com – A Leachville man has died from injuries sustained in a crash earlier this month in Poinsett County, according to Arkansas State Police.
Tony Leo Hawkins, 59, died March 24 at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, where he had been taken following the crash.
The accident occurred around 11:20 a.m. on March 13 at the intersection of Highway 135 and Highway 136 in rural Poinsett County.
According to the preliminary state police report, Hawkins was driving a 2011 International truck eastbound on Highway 135 when the vehicle entered a left curve, left the roadway, and overturned. Investigators said the truck and tanker it was pulling separated before coming to rest.
Hawkins was the only person involved in the crash. He was transported to Regional One Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, where he later died.
Conditions at the time of the crash were reported as clear with dry roadways.
The incident remains under investigation by the Arkansas State Police.
