The tornado warning for northeastern Craighead and southeastern Greene counties has been cancelled by the NWS, due to the tornadic thunderstorm moving out of the area.

UPDATE 6:35 p.m.:

The NWS issued an update at 6:35 p.m. regarding the storm’s location, saying a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Monette, moving east at 60 mph.

“Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely,” the NWS said.

Craighead County, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Craighead County near Brookland.

The warning is in effect for Northeastern Craighead County until 7:15 p.m. It is also in effect for southeastern Greene County, northwestern Mississippi County, southwestern Pemiscot County, and southern Dunklin County.

“At 623 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Brookland, moving east at 60 mph,” the NWS said.

This is radar indicated rotation, with quarter size hail expected.

Impacted locations include: Jonesboro, Paragould, Blytheville, Kennett, Gosnell, Manila, Steele, Lake City, Leachville, Senath, Brookland, Monette, Cardwell, Hornersville, Arbyrd, Cooter, Deering, Black Oak, Holland, and Jolliff Store.

This also includes the following highways: Interstate 55 in Arkansas between mile markers 69 and 72, and Interstate 55 in Missouri between mile markers 1 and 8.
