Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Fun, fellowship, and friendly competition are returning to Joe Mac Campbell Park later this month as NEA Divine Intervention hosts its 3rd Annual Kickball Tournament.

Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 28, the event invites the community to step up to the plate to support a good cause while enjoying a day outdoors.

What initially started as a random idea has quickly grown into a major community event. Kimberly Thomas, a Peer Support Specialist with NEA Divine Intervention, said that every year, it’s getting bigger.

“We got a lot of treatment facilities,” said Thomas. “We got other people in the community coming. We have reached out to JPD. We’ll reach out to the fire department. I mean, we are making this a community.”

NEA Divine Intervention is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those dealing with substance abuse or mental health issues. The tournament serves as a key driver for this mission, helping to raise awareness and fund the resources they provide throughout the year.

“We know all too well how sometimes, so many individuals can feel so isolated, and they feel that they are alone, and a lot of times, they lose relationships and become disconnected,” Thomas said. “It brings people in recovery, their family, people in the community together in a positive, supportive environment, and it reminds [them] that they’re not alone, and recovery can be so much fun.”

Beyond the deeper mission, attendees can expect a highly competitive and energetic atmosphere with first, second, and third-place trophies on the line. The organization will also be serving hot dogs, hamburgers, water, chips, and sodas.

For those not looking to play, there are still plenty of ways to get involved. The organization is actively seeking volunteers, including referees or simply spectators, to cheer everyone on.

“NEA Divine thrives on bringing the community together,” Thomas added. “We are here to walk alongside and guide individuals with whatever they need, and that we can all come together, our community, family, friends, no matter what your situation may be, and we can have a good time.”

Registration for a team of 10 is $50, while individual admission is $5. Organizations wishing to set up a vendor table can do so for $25. Participants can scan the QR code on the event flyer to register and pay. Registration will remain open right up to the day of the event.

Those seeking more information can contact the organization at (870) 206-8406 or visit their office at 2222 Spence Circle. Payments and donations can be made via CashApp at $NEADIVINEINC.
