Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – April 23, 2024 – Just 4 days after The Academies at Jonesboro High School was trashed, the school administration has released a statement.
The release, dated April 23, 2024, summarizes the incident as a “misguided senior prank” that got out of hand with the use of eggs, baby powder, confetti, silly string, copy paper, craft paper, and solo cups, “creating an enormous mess.”
School admin cleaned up the “mess” early Friday morning so class would not be disrupted, and JHS staff continued to help clean as they arrived.
All students who entered the school or participated in the prank at any level have been suspended for 5 days. Additionally, they will miss Senior Awards Day, Senior Picnic, Senior Class Picture, Graduation practice (not Graduation), and the Jr/Sr Prom.
The students will still be allowed to participate in graduation, will not be removed from the yearbook, and will be allowed to take all AP tests.
