Craighead County, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – As the primary elections draw closer, JRN has compiled a list of candidates that will appear on Craighead County ballots.

The purpose of a primary election is for voters to decide which candidates will appear on the ballot for the general election. In Arkansas, both the Republican and Democratic parties operate open primaries, meaning any registered voter, regardless of political affiliation, can vote.

According to the Arkansas Secretary of State, when voting, voters must declare which party’s primary they wish to vote in. Those not wishing to vote in party primaries can choose to vote in nonpartisan races.

Voters can only vote in one party’s primary or the nonpartisan ballot. Nonpartisan officials will still appear on a party’s primary ballot. Registered voters can click here to see who will be on their ballot.
