Paragould, AR – (Contributed) – The Second Judicial District is pleased to announce the appointment of Bryan Davis as the new Commander of the Second Judicial Drug Task Force.

Commander Davis succeeds former Commander Chad Henson, who recently accepted the position of Chief of Police for the Paragould Police Department.

Commander Davis brings more than a decade of law enforcement experience to the role, including extensive leadership in narcotics investigations and multi-agency operations. He currently serves as a Captain with the Jonesboro Police Department, where he has overseen the Drug Task Force, Criminal Investigation Division, and Street Crimes Unit. His prior roles include Lieutenant over the Drug Task Force and Street Crimes Unit, Sergeant, and Detective, providing him with comprehensive operational and supervisory experience.

Throughout his career, Commander Davis has demonstrated a strong commitment to proactive policing, strategic decision-making, and collaboration with local, state, and federal partners. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice and Social Sciences from Arkansas State University and maintains advanced law enforcement certifications through the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training.

“Addiction is a devastating epidemic destroying lives and weakening our communities,” Davis said. “For those suffering from addiction who are ready to seek help and pursue recovery, we will ensure they are connected to the resources they need. However, for drug dealers who deliberately exploit addiction and poison our neighborhoods for profit, there will be zero tolerance. We will aggressively pursue them for arrest and prosecution. We will hold them fully accountable for the destruction they cause to our communities and the lives they devastate.”

Prosecuting Attorney Sonia Hagood expressed gratitude for the leadership of the outgoing commander and confidence in the future of the task force. “Chief Chad Henson served the Second Judicial Drug Task Force with integrity, professionalism, and dedication. I am deeply thankful for his service, his friendship, and his continued commitment to public safety as Chief of the Paragould Police Department,” Hagood said. “I am also excited for the future of our Drug Task Force and the important work ahead under the leadership of Commander Davis. His experience, leadership, and passion for this mission make him the right choice to lead our efforts.”

Commander Davis will assume his duties immediately.
