Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – The results of the city-wide food drive that ended earlier in December are in.
According to a Facebook post from the City of Jonesboro, a total of 2,101 pounds of nonperishable food were collected in the Food Drive Face-Off. City Hall, the Jonesboro Fire Department, and the Jonesboro Police Department competed to see who could collect the most food for local backpack programs.
The Jonesboro Police Department won the competition, collecting 1,176.2 pounds. The agency will get to display the Food Drive Face-Off Trophy for winning, which Santa Claus delivered.

City Hall came in second place with 483.3 pounds, and the fire department came in third with 442.3 pounds collected. The food drive kicked off on Nov. 14 with a donation drive-thru and concluded on Dec. 12.
“Teamwork and generosity help ensure students in our community have the resources they need during their winter break,” the post said. “Thank YOU, residents, for participating and giving back to community students – we are better together. THIS is Jonesboro!”
