Jonesboro, AR – (Contributed) – A $30,000 gift from Arkansas State University alumnus and business leader Nick Meurrier will help support Arkansas residents pursuing veterinary education at A-State.
The Nick Meurrier Scholarship for Veterinary Advancement is designed to assist full-time students accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) who are Arkansas residents and have demonstrated an interest in the future direction or impact of emerging innovations in veterinary science and technology.
A 2001 graduate of A-State with a degree in business, Meurrier was a co-founder of Greenline Pet, a software program still used by over 15,000 veterinary clinics nationwide.
Currently, Meurrier also serves as founder and co-CEO of Endurance Technologies and president of Via Nova Group, both veterinary-focused businesses serving clinics and companies in the U.S. and abroad. His gift reflects a desire to invest in the next generation of veterinary leaders who will drive progress in the field through curiosity, compassion, and innovation.
“I am proud to assist students at A-State and look forward to seeing this scholarship make a lasting impact,” Meurrier said. “Exposing our veterinarians to the newest innovations earlier in their veterinary education ensures that future practitioners are equipped to advance animal health and the profession as a whole.”
The endowed scholarship will be renewable and administered by the College of Veterinary Medicine Awards and Scholarships Committee. Applicants will submit an essay exploring the future direction or impact of a recent innovation in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Heidi Banse, dean of the CVM, said Meurrier’s gift exemplifies the spirit of partnership and progress that defines A-State’s approach to veterinary education.
“We are deeply appreciative of Mr. Meurrier’s generosity and his commitment to supporting future veterinarians,” Banse said. “This scholarship will inspire students to think critically about how innovation and technology can shape the future of animal health care.”
The first scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled in A-State’s College of Veterinary Medicine during the 2026-27 academic year.
The CVM will open in fall 2026 and welcome 120 students to its inaugural class. The 56,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility broke ground on March 12.
