Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Participants are still being sought for the 78th annual Jonesboro Christmas Parade.

Heather Talley, parade coordinator, said around 60 participants have registered, although last year’s had closer to 100.

“I’m hopeful that we get at least 100 again, and that would be the goal, because it does make for a really good variety,” she said. “It was pretty evenly split last year with floats and walkers and vehicles, so we’re hopeful to hit that 100 mark.”

Parade registration closes Nov. 28 at 5 p.m. Click here to register.

There will also be a sensory-friendly area for the parade, which will have noise-cancelling headphones, ADA parking, and more. Passes for the area will be available. The area’s location has not yet been determined, Talley said, but updates will be posted on the parade’s social media accounts.

Volunteers to help with parade lineup are also still being sought. Those interested in volunteering should email jonesborochristmasparade@gmail.com.

The parade will be on Dec. 5 from 7-9 p.m., running from north to south along Main Street and ending on Oak Ave.

Talley encouraged people to show up early to support downtown businesses. The roads will close early for parade setup, but the area will still be walkable.

“Plan to eat dinner with one of our vendors downtown and then just walk a few steps out to the parade grounds,” she said. “If you can’t do that … I would recommend getting there between 6 and 6:30 p.m.”
