Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 29, 2025 – In honor of National Breast Cancer Month in October, the St. Bernards Women’s Council will be hosting its 6th annual Pink Warrior Fun Run/Walk in Jonesboro.

“It’s just something that really touches everybody. I mean, everyone knows someone who’s been impacted by breast cancer, so it’s cool to come together with all these people who have experienced something similar and know that everybody’s working to help find a cure,” said Alden Weeks, development manager for St. Bernards Development Foundation.

The family-friendly event will be Saturday, Oct. 11, at 8 a.m., beginning and ending at St. Bernard’s Health and Wellness Center, located at 1416 E. Matthews Ave. Race day activities include the Hytrol Pink Spirit Contest, where businesses and individuals can put teams together for a cheer-off.

Then, survivors and anyone currently undergoing treatment can show off their pink spirit during the Survivor Parade at 8:30 a.m. The run/walk will start at 9 a.m., with 5K and one-mile options available.

“It’s not a timed event; it really is just a community event to gather. We do have lots of folks that like to run, so we let them go first and get ahead of everybody, and then we let our folks that want to just walk with their friends or family or dogs or strollers or whatever rolling after that,” Weeks said.

There is no deadline to register. Registration is $40 and anyone who had registered before Sept. 23 will be guaranteed a T-shirt. For those who registered after Sept. 23, T-shirts will be handed out on a first-come-first-serve basis at pick-up.

Packet pick-up will be Friday, Oct. 10, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 11, from 7-9 a.m. at St. Bernards Health and Wellness Center. To register, click here.

Weeks also noted there are other ways to support the Pink Warrior Fund, including a $25 gas card for cancer patients, $100 toward a patient wig, or $300 for a patient’s mammogram who doesn’t have insurance.

People can purchase a “Chance to Win” ticket for one of several items, including an Oh My Mah Jong set, a $3,000 shopping spree at Sissy’s Log Cabin, a Diva Wash for a year, or a 7-day Destin condo vacation.

Adjacent to the Walk, the Foundation is also doing a “31 Days of Pink” event, where almost every day in October, a local business will be donating a portion of its proceeds from that day to the Pink Warrior Fund. To learn more, click here.

The goal every year is the raise $100,000, which she said they typically meet or come close to.

All proceeds from this event benefit breast health services in Northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri. For more information, visit the Pink Warrior website.

“What I love so much about this event is St. Bernards puts on this event, but not all of the money goes to St. Bernards; we actually take the money that we make from this event and we give out Pink Warrior Grants to different organizations across Northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri,” Weeks said. “They’re supporting breast cancer patients, so the money doesn’t just come to St. Bernards, it actually truly impacts our entire community.”
