Bono, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 17, 2025 – A Bono man accused of sexually assaulting a minor is being held on a $150,000 cash/surety bond.
According to an affidavit, a detective was contacted by an investigator with the Crimes Against Children Division on Sept. 8 for a report of sexual assault of a minor. The investigator set up an interview with the victim and their mother which took place Sept. 10.
The victim said on Sept. 2, they were doing homework in their bedroom when 71-year-old Morris Gerald Jackson entered. The victim said Jackson walked over to their bed and started tickling them, and grabbed them by the wrist and ankle, hurting them.
The affidavit said the victim was then asked if he touched them inappropriately and to show the investigator on a drawing where they were touched. The victim pointed that their genitals were touched, and when questioned by the investigator, they said Jackson also touched them in other inappropriate areas before the incident.
The victim’s mother also shared an audio recording of her walking into the victim’s bedroom and catching Jackson with the victim when the incident occurred. The affidavit said that some of the victim’s clothes had been removed.
The mother said Jackson immediately got up and the two got into an argument, with Jackson being told to never return to the home again.
Police interviewed Jackson on Sept. 16, in which he said the victim was complaining about their knee hurting, so he kissed it and then began biting the victim’s leg. When asked about the victim’s clothes being removed, Jackson remarked that the detective would have to ask the victim about that, the affidavit said.
According to the affidavit, Jackson added that after the argument, he had not been to the home since, and when asked if he had ever touched any other minors at the home inappropriately, Jackson said he had slapped and pinched them on their bottoms.
Jackson appeared before District Judge David Boling on Sept. 17, where he found probable cause to charge Jackson with second-degree sexual assault. Jackson was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
Jackson’s next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 30.
