Jonesboro, AR – (Contributed) – Sept. 11, 2025 – Arkansas State Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics Chris Pezman announced Thursday that Nick Carroll has been named the Red Wolves’ Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance.

Carroll, a former student-athlete, comes to Arkansas State after most recently spending the last year and a half in Nacogdoches, TX, as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at Stephen F. Austin State University. During his time as a member of the Lumberjacks’ staff, Carroll managed all NCAA, Southland Conference and institutional compliance for 18 varsity sports, while also monitoring areas such as Name, Image and Likeness (NIL).

“Nick is an outstanding addition to our staff, and we’re excited to welcome him to our Red Wolves family,” Pezman said. “Nick’s background as a student-athlete and experience at multiple Division I institutions will make him a great asset for A-State Athletics and our compliance department.”

A National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) member who is also part of the NAAC Convention Committee, Carroll provided additional leadership within the SFA Athletics Department as the sport administrator for baseball, women’s soccer and cheer.

Prior to his time at SFA, Carroll held multiple roles on the athletics department staff at West Virginia University for almost three years. He was elevated to Assistant Director of Compliance, a position he held from 2022-24, after serving as a Compliance Assistant and Student-Athlete Academic Services Graduate Assistant.

“I’m excited to become part of the Jonesboro community and proud to join the Arkansas State Athletics Department, providing me the opportunity to work with an outstanding administration, coaching staff and group of student-athletes,” Carroll said. “Everyone I have met in Jonesboro has been incredible and so welcoming, and that’s why I can’t thank Chris Pezman and (Executive Senior Associate AD) Amy Holt enough for this tremendous opportunity. I look forward to supporting our administration, student-athletes and coaches every step of the way as we continue to grow A-State Athletics.”

In addition to being a NAAC member, Carroll is also actively involved with the NACDA Senior Administrator Mentoring Institute and was a participant in the NCAA’s 2022 Emerging Leaders Seminar.

Carroll earned his bachelor’s degree from King (Bristol, TN) University in management and marketing and his master’s degree in sport management from West Viriginia University. Selected team captain his senior year, Carroll was a baseball student-athlete at King and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
