Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 6, 2025 – Court documents said a confrontation over a vehicle break-in escalated to kidnapping when a Jonesboro man forced juvenile victims off their bicycles and into his car, threatening to kill them if they didn’t comply.

District Judge David Boling found probable cause Aug. 6 to charge 24-year-old Kameon Leshawn McDaniel with kidnapping, first-degree terroristic threatening, and third degree assault. The charges stem from an incident that took place in the 1800 block of W. Nettleton Avenue June 22.

According to the affidavit, officers met with the juvenile victims, who said McDaniel pulled his vehicle in front of them while they were on their bikes. They said he threatened them by telling them to get in the car or he would kill them, accusing them of stealing items from his sister’s vehicle.

During a Mirandized interview Aug. 6, McDaniel told police that someone else was driving his vehicle at the time of the confrontation, but after the juveniles got inside, McDaniel then drove the vehicle to their parents’ house. The affidavit said once there, McDaniel did not let them out, backed out of the driveway, and took them to his sister’s home, where the vehicle was broken into.

The affidavit said upon arrival at the home, one of the juveniles ran away. The juvenile victim and witnesses said McDaniel then “slapped the juvenile around” while inside his sister’s garage, threatening him about breaking into the car. McDaniel then took the juvenile back to the parents’ home and confronted them.

Based on the seriousness of the charges and court documents showing he was out on three different felony bonds in 2025, two of which were for cases that occurred in July, Boling issued a $750,000 cash/surety bond for McDaniel. He was also ordered to wear a GPS ankle monitor upon release.

McDaniel is scheduled to be back in court Sept. 30.
