Caraway- Johnny Luke Crews, 61, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024 at NEA Baptist Hospital.
He was born September 22, 1962 in Elaine to Lynn Crews and Billie Ruth Davis Crews. He formerly worked in wastewater management at Fairfield Bay. He loved to fish, hunt, cook for others, and have gatherings with friends and family. He had already bought fish and shrimp for his next cookout which he didn’t get to have. He was a big jokester. As sick as he was he still kept the nurses and hospital staff laughing.
He was a donor to Mid-America Transplant in St. Louis, Missouri which was his last wish.
Johnny is survived by his daughter, Ashlynn Evans (Rush) of Fayetteville; his parents, Lynn and Billie Crews; two sisters, Diana Powell (Olin) and Lynda Boatman (John) all of Caraway; several nieces, nephews, family and many friends and his new dog, Moonshine the second.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Millie Davis and Luke and Alburta Crews.
A celebration of his life will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Wayne Roach officiating. Interment will follow at Caraway Cemetery.
The visitation will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Roger Overman, Jr., Jerry Berry, Jeremy Williams, Jim Pittman, Curtis Taylor and Rodney Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Jackson Johnson, Robert Harrell, Bobby Pitts, Dennis Davis, Garry Davis, Larry Davis, John Brewer, Mike Brickell, Lance Booth, Rolen Gamble, Jim Redding, Anthony Fletcher and Caraway Class of 1980.
