Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 21, 2025 – A man is being held on a $100,000 cash/surety bond after police say he choked his wife while she was holding their baby and attempted to stop her from leaving the home.
Craighead County District Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause Monday to charge 22-year-old Tyler Lee Bordelon, of Moreauville, Louisiana, with kidnapping, first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, and aggravated assault on a family or household member.
According to the affidavit, on June 6, the victim called police about a domestic disturbance that occurred in April.
She said that during an argument, her child’s father, Bordelon, grabbed the victim by the throat while she was holding the child.
“[The] victim advised [that] Bordelon strangled tight enough that she could not breath and [she] began feeling her body go weak as she started seeing spots,” the affidavit said.
The victim said that she almost dropped the child due to the attack and had to hit Bordelon with a bottle to get him to release her. She then ran upstairs and Bordelon stopped her from being able to leave the home.
Police said the victim delayed the completion of the report due to “Bordelon’s control of her movements” and waited until she could get to a safe location in Louisiana.
Borderlon was arrested July 20 and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center after a warrant for his arrest was issued in Louisiana.
Per Fowler’s bond agreement, Bordelon must have no contact with the victim and wear a GPS ankle monitor to track his movements.
Bordelon’s next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 30.
