Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 18, 2025 – A Jonesboro man and woman face felony assault charges after detectives said a victim was beaten and had a gun put in their mouth while the incident was being filmed.

Craighead County Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause Friday to charge 20-year-old Tristyn Blake Johnson with aggravated assault, second-degree sexual assault, and first-degree assault. Another suspect, 19-year-old Abigail Raychell Johnson, faces charges of aggravated assault and first-degree assault, in addition to a use of a communication device charge.

According to the affidavit, on June 20, detectives with the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office were made aware of an aggravated assault that had occurred on Sept. 7, 2024, and obtained video of the incident.

Detectives said in the video that Tristyn could be seen beating the victim with a belt, making the victim get on their knees and calling Tristyn “daddy,” and sticking a handgun in the victim’s mouth, all while Abigail was recording the incident from Tristyn’s phone. The affidavit went on to say that Tristyn could be seen trying to get the victim to perform a sexual act on him.

Once the incident ended, the Johnsons left the victim behind. The victim was eventually picked up by a passerby and dropped off at a nearby gas station. The affidavit said the victim contacted their father, who took the child to the hospital for injuries allegedly suffered from being kicked by Tristyn and Abigail in the throat.

In an interview that took place July 17, the victim told detectives that Abigail called them and asked if they wanted to go riding around with her. Abigail picked the victim up and took them to a dark dirt road where she told them that she and her boyfriend rode four-wheelers, according to the affidavit.

The victim said that at one point, another vehicle raced around them and stopped, with Tristyn getting out. Tristyn then approached the victim, making them get out of the vehicle to assault them. The victim said the bruising they had to their back and neck was a result of the incident.

During Friday’s court appearance, Fowler ordered Tristyn to have no contact with the victim. Tristyn is currently being held in the Craighead County Detention Center on a $35,000 cash/surety bond.

Abigail was released on a $5,000 temporary bond earlier in the day at 9:04 a.m., according to online jail records.

Tristyn and Abigail are scheduled to be back in court on Aug. 21.
