Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — July 2, 2025 — A level two sex offender from Jonesboro turned himself in after deputies said he had failed to notify them about an address change.
Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause July 2 to charge 25-year-old Dakota Lambert with failure to register (failure to comply with reporting requirements).
On July 1, Sgt. Mandi Smyth of the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Sex Offenders Registry in Jonesboro about Lambert.
According to the affidavit, on Aug. 12, 2024, Lambert registered with Ward and changed his address to a home in the 1600 block of County Road 7803. Lambert was told to go to the sheriff’s office to notify Smyth of the chance, but he never did.
Deputies said Williams is a level two sex offender and has been registering since September 2021. He was due for his six-month registration on Sept. 21, 2024, but they said he failed to contact the sheriff’s office to make arrangements to do so, violating state law.
The affidavit said Ward contacted Lambert about his registry status being delinquent, but Lambert went to the Jonesboro Police Department to turn himself in. A deputy then took him to the Craighead County Detention Center, where he is being held on a $35,000 cash/surety bond.
Lambert’s next court date is scheduled for Aug. 21.
