Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — June 30, 2025 — A Jonesboro man is being held on a $1 million bond after police said he was selling several illegal narcotics at his home, which were later found to be fentanyl.

Craighead County Judge David Boling found probable cause June 30 to charge 26-year-old Kenterrian Tavonte Washington with trafficking of fentanyl, possession of a Schedule VI substance greater than four ounces but less than 10 pounds, and improper tint.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on June 27, an agent with the Second Judicial Drug Task Force was conducting surveillance at a home in the 500 block of Vine Street where sales of illegal narcotics had been conducted.

The agent saw Washington go into his SUV and drive off before circling back to the home and parking his vehicle in front of the driveway. He was then seen walking into the home, coming back out and peaking behind a tree before walking quickly to his SUV with a pink bag under his right arm.

The affidavit said Washington drove off again and turned back east onto West Jefferson Avenue, where officers stopped him for illegal window tint. A tint meter was then used, confirming that the windows were one percent tint.

During the traffic stop, an investigator said he got a positive alert from his K9 for an odor of illegal narcotics in Washington’s SUV. Inside the vehicle, officers found a backpack containing 2.2 pounds of suspected marijuana. The pink bag was also found, which had a cellophane bag containing 77 orange pills with the imprint of AD/30. The pills later tested positive for fentanyl.

“The pills were different sizes and were not all identical like pharmaceutical pills would be and appeared to be ‘pressed,’” the affidavit said.

The affidavit added that other drugs suspected to be fentanyl were also found in the bag, including 22 red pills, 10.8 grams of red powder, and five clear capsules with the same red powder in them.

Washington is being held in the Craighead County Detention Center, where, if he bonds out, he must wear a GPS ankle monitor. His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 21
