Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — June 13, 2025 — Police arrested a Jonesboro man after they said he was caught on camera breaking into a vehicle.
Craighead County Judge David Boling found probable cause on June 13 to charge 18-year-old Cortez Keshaun Jones with breaking or entering (articles from a vehicle), criminal attempt, theft of $1,000 or less from a vehicle, and fleeing.
According to the affidavit, on June 11, Jonesboro police officers responded to a home near Bekah Drive for an attempted vehicle break-in. The victim told them a man could be seen on his security camera trying to open his car door.
Officers attempted to search for the suspect, but during the search, the victim contacted them again. They said the victim was able to point out the suspect’s vehicle.
The affidavit said that as the officers got near the vehicle, three people began to run away, but they were able to catch one person, who was identified as Jones. Officers confirmed that Jones was the man seen on the initial victim’s security camera.
The affidavit noted that throughout that night and into the morning, officers were contacted by two other victims in the same area about their vehicles being broken into and items being stolen.
Jones is being held in the Craighead County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash/surety bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 31.
