Paragould, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 31, 2025 – Greene County Sheriff Brad Snyder is standing by the effort his department has made responding to reports of a missing Paragould woman. In a Facebook post Friday night, Snyder says his department is doing all it can to find the woman.
Jessica Paige Kemp, 32, of Paragould, was reported missing to the Jonesboro Police Department on May 14, 2025. That’s significant because Kemp had called the Greene County 911 System nine days earlier on May 5, 2025 from a camping site at the Wildlife Management Area at Lake Ashbaugh near Delaplaine where she was camping. Kemp reported to 911 dispatchers that “someone was under her car.”
Snyder says his department dispatched a deputy to the area the night of the May 5 call. According to the post “it was determined that nothing was under or in Kemp’s vehicle.” The deputy learned that Kemp had recently stopped taking prescription medications to treat mental health. The deputy, who was trained in crisis intervention, said Kemp “did not meet the criteria for being taken into custody” and told him she would “follow up with her physician regarding her mental health medications.”
When Greene County officials learned the family had filed a missing person’s report in Jonesboro, Snyder says “we responded to the campsite to begin investigating.” He says that investigation continues now. He outlined the timeline for investigation and search efforts his department has conducted in the Facebook post (below).
Since Kemp was reported missing there have been numerous social media posts by individuals across Northeast Arkansas. The posts share Kemp’s picture and urge anyone with information to report that information to law enforcement. Snyder told JonesboroRightNow this week that he understands the worry and frustration for Kemp’s family and friends, but says his department is doing all it can. “I am very thankful for my dedicated investigators and deputies that have put in numerous hours of work to locate Ms. Kemp,” Snyder said.
Snyder says there were no signs of foul play at the scene. “Ms. Kemp is thirty-two years of age. She is free to live her life as she sees fit, including not having contact with family and/or friends. However, until we locate her or receive word from her that she is fine and does not want to be found by anyone, we will continue to pursue any leads that we become aware of.”
WREG-TV, Memphis reported this week that Kemp was originally from Munford, TN. While she is believed to have been living in Paragould, she may have also spent time in Trumann. A post on a Facebook page said “She spent multiple days in the Trumann, AR area prior to going missing out of Greene County Arkansas.”
Investigation timeline shared on Greene County Sheriff Brad Snyder Facebook page:
Details that were discerned early on in the investigation include:
– Kemp has a known drug addiction
– Kemp commonly does not have contact with family for weeks and months at a time
– It is normal for Kemp to camp in remote locations just as she was at Lake Ashbaugh
– There were no signs of foul play at the campsite or immediate area
