Craighead County, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — May 19, 2025 — A Jonesboro man and a Brookland woman are being held on $150,000 bonds after being accused of possessing methamphetamine that later tested positive for fentanyl.

While standing before Judge David Boling on Monday, 48-year-old Justin Beshiers and 31-year-old Miranda Sims-Beiter were each charged with one count of possession of fentanyl and one count of possession of meth or cocaine with purpose to deliver. Sims-Beiter also faces one count of no license plate lights, no proof of liability insurance, and driving on a suspended license.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on May 17, an officer conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 49 and Crain Road for the vehicle having no license plate light. During the stop, the officer learned that Sims-Beiter, who was driving the car, was on probation and had a suspended driver’s license.

Officers had Sims-Beiter and her passenger, Beshiers, step out of the vehicle and conduct a roadside interview. During the interview, the affidavit said, Sims-Beiter appeared nervous. It also noted that the officer was aware that both Sims-Beiter and Beshiers are known narcotics users with prior convictions.

Officers deployed a K9, which alerted at the driver’s door. Officers searched the vehicle and found a bag containing around 70 grams of meth. Officers also found small, crystal-like rocks in the driver and passenger floorboards.

During a Mirandaized interview with Sims-Beiter, she told officers the meth found belonged to her and Beshiers, with Beshiers being the one who bought it. The affidavit also said that Sims-Beiter “agreed that her and [Beshiers] were planning on going back to her house and using some of the meth and selling the rest to support their habit.”

While logging the meth into evidence, officers field tested the drugs twice. Both tests showed a positive indication of fentanyl, the affidavit said.

Both Sims-Beiter and Beshiers are being held on $150,000 cash or surety bonds. Their next court date is set for June 27.
