Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — May 5, 2025 — Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds and sizes are available through area animal rescues and shelters, as well as opportunities to help homeless animals through foster programs, donations, and help with fundraisers and other family-friendly activities.
JRN has partnered with area animal shelters to present “Pets of the Week.” We will feature a handful of animals each week. If interested in adopting or volunteering with the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, go to neahs.org.
Meet Marcia: Marcia is a 9-week-old female kitten. She’s brown tabby in color and is a domestic short hair. She came into the shelter four weeks ago with her mama and her litter, who are now the “Brady Bunch kittens.” She’s playful and friendly and will be ready for her FURever home as soon as she gets her second shot!

Meet Monkey: Monkey is a 64 lb. male who’s been in the shelter for almost a year. He’s close to three years old, has been neutered and microchipped, and is heartworm negative. Monkey is playmates with Haze, the previously un-pairable, because he loves everyone, everywhere, all the time! He’s a staff favorite and will make someone the best companion.
