Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — April 18, 2025 — A Jonesboro woman faces multiple charges after allegedly attempting to hide a pill during a traffic stop.

Jonesboro police observed a Toyota Camry crossing the center line multiple times on Matthews Avenue. A check of the license plate revealed unconfirmed insurance. As the officer approached the vehicle near Culberhouse and Matthews, he noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.

The driver told officers she did not have a driver’s license. As the officer searched the vehicle, he noticed the driver reaching into her buttocks area. He told her to stop. Believing she was trying to hide contraband, the officer placed her in custody and transported her to the Craighead County Detention Center, the affidavit said.

A female jailer conducted a search and removed a white pill, later identified as oxycodone. According to the affidavit, the driver said she knew it was a prescription drug and was nervous, so she tried to conceal it.

She’s charged with possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, driving without a license, no proof of insurance, and driving left of center.

Her bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety. She is scheduled to appear in court on May 22.
