Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — April 11, 2025 — A Jonesboro man is being held on a $100,000 cash/surety bond after police said he led an officer on a high-speed chase and hit another vehicle while on the wrong side of the road.

According to the affidavit, on March 20, a Jonesboro police officer saw a vehicle traveling on Colony Drive without a license plate. As the officer tried to stop the vehicle, the driver began speeding away.

The vehicle traveled at high speeds on the wrong side of the road to pass other vehicles on the road, but as the driver tried to turn onto Richardson Drive, he failed to stop at the stop sign, hitting and causing “disabling damage” to another vehicle.

The affidavit said that the suspect ran on foot and was able to escape the officers.

By talking with the suspect vehicle’s owner and a friend the owner said the vehicle was in the care of, the officers learned the vehicle was driven during the chase by 24-year-old Jaylan Randeruis Moore. This was further confirmed through comparing Moore’s driver’s license photo and surveillance footage of the incident taken by a nearby intersection camera, and an officer with previous encounters with Moore was able to identify him.

Moore was arrested on April 10 after a bench warrant was issued for him.

On April 11, a judge found probable cause to charge Moore with fleeing, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage only (damage being equal or greater than $10,000), and reckless driving.

Moore’s next court appearance is scheduled for May 22.
