Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — April 11, 2025 — A McGehee man is being held on a $1 million bond after being accused of multiple drug charges, including trafficking of fentanyl in Jonesboro.

According to a probable cause affidavit, agents with the 2nd Judicial Task Force were watching an apartment complex on Dudley Street on April 10. Officers saw a man whom they said they knew to be selling illegal narcotics walking around the property.

They then saw another man enter a gold Buick, followed by the other man previously seen walking around the property, then drive off. Officers conducted a traffic stop for the driver speeding 10 mph over the limit, the affidavit said.

During the stop, the driver initially identified himself as Donzel Young, however, officers noticed differences between Young and the driver’s photo on his license he provided to officers, the affidavit said. Officers later identified the driver as 34-year-old Willie Braison.

Officers then returned to the apartment on Dudley Street, where they made contact with Braison’s girlfriend. She told officers Braison had come by the apartment the day before and brought marijuana and a bag of “stuff.”

She then signed a consent form allowing officers to search the apartment. During the search, officers found a black bag with three cellophane bags of suspected methamphetamine weighing a total of 71 grams. They also found a bag containing 0.8 grams of suspected mushrooms, according to the affidavit.

In addition, multiple bags containing a total of 154 grams of marijuana, plus a marijuana grinder, were found in the residence.

Officers later found two jars with a total pill count of 292. After being logged into evidence, one pill was crushed up and tested, identifying the pills as fentanyl.

According to the affidavit, Braison told officers after being informed of his rights that all items found were his. Officers also seized a total of $953 from the residence and Braison’s person.

Braison is charged with the following:

  • One count of trafficking of fentanyl
  • One count of possession of meth or cocaine with purpose to deliver
  • One count of possession of a Schedule I or II drug not meth or cocaine with purpose to deliver
  • One count of possession of a Schedule VI with purpose to deliver
  • One count of nonfinancial identity fraud
  • One count of possession of drug paraphernalia
  • One count of obstructing governmental operations
  • One count of speeding one to 15 mph over the limit

Braison was given a $1 million cash or surety bond on Friday. His next court date is set for May 22. He’s being held in the Craighead County Detention Center.
