Craighead County, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — April 5, 2025 — Craighead County roads are fully or partially closed as areas continue to flood due to what the National Weather Service is calling “generational rains.”
“Craighead County officials are urging all residents to remain indoors and avoid travel as significant flooding continues to impact the area,” a news release from the county said. “Due to excessive rainfall, numerous county roads are currently impassable, and more closures are expected as the situation evolves.”
According to a Saturday news release, the county said the following roads are blocked due to flooding:
- County Road 905
- County Road 912
- County Road 414
- County Road 420
- County Road 114
- County Road 109
- County Road 304
- County Road 307
- County Road 859
- County Road 673
- County Road 204
- County Road 394
- County Road 418
- County Road 328
- County Road 214
- County Road 7285
The county said some roads may have partial closures, but all affected areas are unsafe for travel and should be avoided. It also urged drivers to stay off the roads unless “absolutely necessary,” especially at night when visibility is reduced, and hazards are more difficult to spot.
“County emergency management teams and road crews are actively monitoring conditions and will provide updates as they become available,” the news release said. “Residents are encouraged to follow official county channels for the latest information and to report hazardous conditions where safe to do so.”
Do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways: turn around, don’t drown.
