Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — March 20, 2025 — The Mayor’s Youth Advancement Council (MYAC) will be hosting its third annual Spring Community Fair in April.
The fair takes place on Saturday, April 5 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Northside Park, located at 503 N. Bridge St.
MYAC sponsor Shelly Anderson said the event began because the MYAC students wanted an opportunity to bring resources and family fun to Jonesboro where it would be most beneficial.
“After much discussion, it was decided that we could make the biggest impact by holding it on the north side of town. We agreed on Northside Park and the MYAC Spring Community Fair was born,” Anderson said. “The students felt it important to hold this annual event to bring much-needed resources and free family fun to the community. This opportunity also brings people together, uniting neighbors, businesses, and non-profits.”
This event will feature vendors, artisans, arts and crafts, live music, giant inflatables, games and prizes, a free lunch from the Exchange Club of Jonesboro and more.
The MYAC will also host a “Leave What You Can, Take What You Need” donation/giving table designed to collect and distribute donations.
“The MYAC Giving Table is open to anyone,” Anderson said. “We ask local community members, and businesses to help with donations of food and personal hygiene items. Year after year, Unilever, Post, and the NEA Food Bank have all helped to support this project. The students lay all items out on tables and offer shopping bags to visitors. They are free to take whatever they might need for their family.”
Items usually include canned and boxed food, hygiene products like shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap, feminine hygiene products and more.
People interested in donating can contact myacjonesboro@gmail.com or send a direct message through any MYAC social media page. People can also make monetary donations through Cash App at $MYACJonesboro, by check to PO Box 1845, Jonesboro, AR 72403, or by calling the City Collector’s office at City Hall. Anderson added the MYAC is happy to pick up any items wishing to be donated.
Vendor space is still available as well. The cost for a booth is $25 and registration fees help cover the cost of inflatables and other interactive installations. To register as a vendor, click here.
